A lot to be thankful about

Well we only have Few more hours before will say goodbye to 2008 although there were some incident lately that happened to my family especially to my father. I still consider 2008 a good year for us, a lot of good things have happened than bad though. After all what’s important is where still here alive and kicking. My father is on his way to recovery now and feeling much better. In spite of the economy today my hubby is still doing well with his work. I myself started a business not too long ago and its doing great slowly but surely. And I think the highlight of my 2008 was my trip to the Philippines which I’ve been looking forward to for the longest time and it finally happened. So thank you lord for everything and to all of you have a happy and healthy new year.

Get help and avoid bunkruptcy

I think one of the many reasons why we are experiencing this kind of economy right now where a lot of houses are in foreclosure is because of too much debt. People took a loan with big interest and even after refinancing still it’s not enough. That is why before signing any kind of contract or documents be sure to read that fine prints or just read everything before signing your life away as you can never tell that’s where “delicate part” is. One’s you’ve signed that’s a legal contract already and threes no more turning back.

With these current economy that were facing right now, where people are losing their job and we know where that would direct us if we don’t have work anymore. That means, we can’t make house payments anymore, or even credit card payment and for some we still have medical bills to attend to. If we’re having a hard time making both ends meet what do you think will happen to us? I remember my mother in-law telling me the last time during one of our conversation that if her brother was still alive today, he could have live 50years or more but they will still be in so much debt. She left me speechless, didn’t realized that her brother was in so much debt. For me hope it will serve as an experience that we all should learn from, being in so much debt is not fun at all and you’re destroying your reputation your credibility. So if your also in the same situation don’t hesitate get help, to Avoid Bankruptcy. It’s not good in your credit history one’s you file for bankruptcy, it’s like a piece of fabric, ones stained and you’ve tried so hard to get rid of it and even though you’ve managed to eliminate it the clothe won’t be the same anymore.

It's a White Christmas

It was indeed a white Christmas for us last Thursday, though we were at a friend’s house last Christmas Eve for our annual get together before the big day. News says that it’s supposed to snow that evening for about 2-3inches of snow in the valley but we were a little bit disappointed about that because we were hoping for a glimpse of a white Christmas. But the big surprised actually came early on Christmas Day. We woke up and it’s all white already outside, so that’s pretty neat. We started our Christmas day with a good and hearty breakfast followed by opening of presents. How about you guys, how did you spend your Christmas day?

Sit on the Big man's lap

I remember when I was still a little girl that I’ve always wanted to have a Christmas tree I guess my Christmas wouldn’t be complete without it. But the only problem is that we don’t have money to buy one, so what I would do is go outside our house weeks before Christmas day and look for that perfect stem that our jackfruit tree has prepared for me. I don’t know what it was but I just want to have a Christmas tree during the holidays; I guessed that was my wish that time is to have a tree where I can decorate myself. Other kids would wish for dolls, nice toys and other kids stuff but for me, I just want to have a Christmas tree. Now I don’t have to worry about that anymore for we have a 7 foot Christmas tree which our good friend gave us years ago. I guest wish do really come through if it’s really your heart’s desire, do you got a wish?

And speaking of wish, check this link http://www.sitonsantaslap.com/?utm_source=b, it’s the sit on Santa’s lap. And try uploading your picture you will be surprised with its instant result. I tried uploading mine and it shows on Santa’s picture frame immediately. There’s nothing really special with the photo that I uploaded except that it’s a photo of me and my most precious son. The instant result just blows me away, didn’t expect it would be that fast and that digital frames would have that capacity now. But I’m sure it will be nice to send and received picture from friends and relatives all over the country with this CEIVA digital photo frame. Weather your sending it through your cellfone or computer you will get the results that you’re looking for. And not only that you will sit on the big boss lap you can also join their contest and 1 random entry selected for each day of the contest and a cash prize per winner of $500.

He Finally get to sit on Santa's Lap

Well it's Tuesday already and that’s 2days before Christmas, so Merry Christmas everybody. As usual we went to the library at 10am, but according to the teacher that it’s their Christmas party which I didn’t know about because we weren’t there last week and it’s going to start at 11am and Santa’s coming. That sounds pretty exciting and I’m curious how Christian would react this time with Santa. Because the first time he sees the big man he wasn’t really happy about it. But boy oh boy today was a different story, though he wasn’t on the talking mood when Santa picks him up and put him on his lap because he was just staring the old man the whole time his holding him. But at least he got to sit on Santa’s lap and that’s something. Check this for the previous story http://meg818.blogspot.com

The Weekend before Christmas

Wow it’s the weekend before christmas and everybody is just rushing to buy gift to their love ones. Mall is really pack with shoppers and its just crazy because you coudnt get a parking. I read in the newspaper weeks ago that a lot of people are shopping at Thrift store, with the kind of economy that we are facing right now where a lot of workers lost their jobs, they are still trying to enjoy the holidays inspite of everything, after all Christmas is all about sharing. So to all of you Merry christmas and a Prosperrous and healthy New Year to All.

We almost get stuck on the mountain

Yes we did “almost” though, that’s because 10miles before hitting the mountain we tunned in the radio to get the latest news about the weather conditions and it say that” theres no need to used a chain”. So we continued driving, miles later we saw vehicles pulling on the side of the road putting their chain. So we turned on the radio again and there it is, “snow tire or chain is required up in the mountain” so instead of moving on and taking the risk we turned back and head for the nearest town to get a snow chain. So instead of coming home at 7:30 we arrived at 9:30pm. Its still worth it at least were home safe and sound.

It's a short but fun weekend

It was a short weekend indeed, we went to sacramento california last Friday just right after my doctor’s appointment. It’s a 3 hours drive but we made it there safe and sound. Its actually nice because when we get there a little bit over 2pm we don’t have to worry about driving back again to Reno hours later because we planned on spending the night in roseville california. So at least we were able to take our time without rushing. We went to some of their local thrift stores, went to their mall and also check out the Thunder Valley Casino. Thanks to the GPS that we bought in Kohl’s months ago, now we can go to places we’ve never been before.

Happy Holidays everyone

We were at the birthday party of a friends house whose daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday last December 9. We all had such a great time plus the food was so delicious, Jocelyn and some friends did an excellent job cooking. But anyway I think that would be our last get together for the year of which I will be a part of (the biggest get together), though they were actually planning for another get together on christmas eve that’s december 24 at Jocelyns house. But my mother inlaw will be celebrating the holidays with us so I’m afraid we wont be able to go, though we had so much fun last year. But anyway that’s all for today folks and happy holidays…

He missed two class already

Well we missed goin to the library today for his storytelling. My son slept so late last night and was awake at 5am today and went back to sleep again minutes later. Its already passed 9 am and theres still no signs of him waking up anytime soon and werestill supposed to get ready because storytelling at the library starts at 10am. But I just let him sleep anyway. Last week he also missed the class at the library for he had a runny nose and wasn’t just feeling well.

Pretty cool digital frames

I know christmas is just right around the corner and its never been to late yet if you got a wish. Who knows it might come true right? After all its Christmas the most wonderful time of the year. But would you like to have a one-of-a-kind digital photo frame?

Now the reason I mentioned the digital frame because most digital frames at the present time only shows pictures that was stored in the memory card are being shown everyday and everytime you turned it on. You can only changed the pictures that are being displayed on the digital frame everytime you update your memory card.

CEIVA's unique Digital Photo Frame allows you to send and received pictures instantly by the use of your computer from friends and family all over the world in a blink of an eye with out constantly updating your digital photo frames. You don’t have to be a computer professional either to set it up and no software is also wanted.

Other than that you can also try the sit on santas lap at http://www.sitonsantaslap.com/?utm_source=b where you can upload pictures of your self. It doesn’t matter how you look like on the picture as long as your willing to share it with friends and family. I tried doin this and wla! In a matter of seconds only my picture appeared on santa’s digital photo frame. Not only that my name and wish was also there, its pretty amazing.

To add more fun on this spirit of Christmas, CEIVA will hold a contest, one winner will be selected through a random entry. The winner for the day will take home a cash award of $500. So don’t miss it, check them out now who knows your christmas might be jolly and bright.

Can surf anywhere in the house now

I’m so glad that a good friend of my husband came to the house last Saturday to check on our computers. And the verdict, is that they are all in good shape, though he made some minor adjustments few clicks here and there but nothing really serious. And the best part of it is that we can now use our laptop computer anywhere in the house without the worry of all the computer cables, for short its now wireless and to me this is really awesome being able to connect online and be able to do my thing on the internet without staying in place is really cool. Since we’re not computer geek type of persons or anything like that, but going wireless is pretty cool. Now my son won’t be bored in one room anymore.

So finding a great gift at a much affordable price sometimes seems impossible. Fun Weekend

We went to the mall few weeks ago, just right before the black Friday sale where everybody is rushing for the good buys. But anyway, I wanted to take a picture of our son Christian together with Santa Clause at the mall but hubby said “no” for he wasn’t dressed for that ocassion. It wasn’t actually on the plan, we just saw Santa Clause that time so I thought it might be a good idea since they’re not so busy yet. But anyway im still hoping we will be able to get it done before the holiday rush on the malls and besides this is going to be his first picture with santa so im quite excited about it. But nevertheless, we also end up with this pictures.

A Big Laugh For Me

Because we were so excited about our son going to a class in our local library here last Monday November 10, we totally forgot that its going to be a holiday that Tuesday (Veterans day). We got up around 8am, feed him some breakfast, hang out a little bit, changed his clothes and of course mommy has to prepare too right? And then off we go to the library. When I was about to park the car at the parking lot, I saw a lady smiled and crossed her arms, didn’t really quite get what she’s trying to tell me because all I can think off is that my baby is going to a class. So I turned off the car engine and walk towards the library door and there it is that says “WERE CLOSED TODAY, VETERANS HOLIDAY” LOL.

LASIK- Are You Ready For This?

Wow, technology has come a long way especially in correcting one’s vision now. I had a perfect vision 20/20 few years ago, but when I started my first job and did a lot of work on the computer I think that’s when everything started. Plus reading while the vehicle is running and reading while there’s an insufficient light inside the room is also one of the things I’m fun of doing. Its not that I like doing it, but I think I get carried away with whatever story im ready and didn’t realized that its already getting dark.

My husband on the other hand has always been wearing glasses since he was on the kindergarten. I try to ask him one’s before if he would be willing to try the LASIK technology, but he doesn’t seem to like the idea of such procedure. I don’t even know if would want to have one for myself. I heard some weird stories about eye surgery and I’ve always been scared of going under the knife so I don’t think if that’s also the right path that I would be willing to take. Yah Lasik Procedure is expensive but if you do the math, I think its much cheaper in the long run.

But today NASA and the U.S. military personnel are using the modern LASIK or also known as iLASIK to increased the performance of their personnel especially when it comes to a very high , critical and dangerous missions. Unlike the old procedure of LASIK, modern LASIK uses two lasers instead of one. The first stage of iLASIK, wave-front technology maps the unique characteristics of the individual’s eyes. Then, an ultrafast, computer-guided laser creates a corneal flap. This laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade used in older forms of LASIK and makes the procedure exceptionally safe. After the flap is created, the wave-front mapping data guides a second laser for vision correction. Hmmm now that sounds pretty cool ha? But I think I would still want to gather more information about it on LASIK information. The procedure sounds perfectly safe but still scared about it. Anyway that will give us something to think about and for you to guys…

Free from VS

We were at the mall last weekend and hubby remember that we have a Victoria Secret Card which they usually send on the mail and with it comes a free gift plus a $10 off if you purchase a bra. Since I just bought a lot of bras from kohl’s the last time so I told the lady if I can just have their free gift. I was just curious what it was and to my surprised they handed me a very cute “Dream Angel Wish Perfume”. Not bad for a free gift Ha? And now I have another one again which I haven’t claim yet, a free Victoria Secret Cotton Panty plus a $10 off any bra.

Suit That Makes You Look and Feels Good

Wow, I didn’t realize that there’s more process involved in finding that perfect suit. Most especially if it is a made-to measure suit. Unlike suits that you can just buy at the regular department store where you take them off the rack, try them on and if it fits and the color of the fabric looks good on you and the price tag seems ok then your good to go.

But in My.Suit Made to Measure suit, there still more into it. They want to make sure that their customer will get what they paid for, every little details is seriously put into consideration. They will help you design your own suit that doesn’t only make you look good but feels good as well. Their consultant will help you in every process in finding that perfect suit. Having a good quality suit for me is like an investment, you put money on it and at the end you will get your money’s worth. I’m actually excited to tell my husband about this. There are only 3 simple steps involve for the process: measuring, styling and fabric selection how hard could that be. And if he’s interested were on for a good start. You can even make an appointment online it’s very convenient, fast and easy right at the comfort of your own home. So if you want to invest on those gorgeous suits and look good at it, check them out.

Dont Wait to the Last Minute

Well we went to Wal-mart in Fallon last night, we were hoping that we can still get a costume for our little tot. I bought a costume for him the other day also in wal-mart size 6-9months, though my baby is already 13months old the costume looks big to him so I bought it, too bad a I had a poor sense of judgment. The outfit was a little bit tight, he seems so uncomfortable wearing it though he looks so cute. So we returned the costume last night and since it’s the night before Halloween there’s not much choices left for us so we end up getting him a superman costume with cape on it. I’m sure he will have lots of fun during his first ever trick or treat at Circus-Circus today. Can’t wait to share photos with friends then.

A Better Way To Save With Zenni Optical

With the kind of economy that we are facing right now, it is really hard-hitting each of our lives. What ever the kind of effect that this recession will have to each of us, I think we should think hard and step back. For who knows how long this depression is going to last. I think it would be wise to cut-back on stuff that we don’t really need. First, start looking around your home, think of a way how to save on electricity, turn off that TV when not being use or simply lessen the amount of time you spend in front of your television. Instead, go out and do some yard work, in that way, you will not only make your house look clean but you were also able to do some needed exercise. Next if you can do the dish washing by your self, it would also be nice to save water and electricity. You don’t have to do this by your self, involved your family the more the merrier. And let the kids understand how important it is to save and show them also what you’re doing so that they will understand and learn from it.

Since school just started not to long ago and your children needs a new pair of eyeglasses, well don’t hesitate and look any further anymore. ZenniOptical.com sells fashionable Prescription Glasses Online starting from $8. You will find wide variety of stylish frames fits for any budget. Not only that you will also l find single vision frame lens. Tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal, progressive lens and a lot more. Why are they so economical? That’s because they sell only their manufactured frames straight to the customers with no middlemen. Talking about saving? Well this is your chance so check them out.

Wrong Timing

Today was supposed to be my dental appointment, I’m all ready to go and so is my little boy. Milk, clean diapers and some extra clothes were already packed inside the Diaper bag. So we went to the garage to open the car and put all the stuff inside already when the clicker wouldn’t work. So I tried to start the engine few times and it still not working. Then all of a sudden I realized that I must have forgotten to turn off the light inside the other and it worn out the battery. Since I still have few minutes left, I was going to transfer my sons car seat to the other vehicle but it just doesn’t seem to work and besides im already late. So I grabbed my celfone and cancel my appointment to the last minute. Don’t know what else to say to the receptionist because I already confirmed for my appointment but thing happened, what else I could do.

My Little Man

My one year old son is now all ready for Halloween. I got this cute horse outfit the other day at wal-mart at a much reasonable price while buying milk and some stuff. Our little boy is growing so fast, I still remember his first Halloween when he seems so adorable with cute outfit that was given to me during my baby shower.

Hotel Casco Antiguo in Panama

Panama is one of the oldest cities which I would love to visit someday. With its rich culture, beautifully restored Spanish architecture I’m sure its going to be a one big happy and memorable vacation.

Why Panama? Well that’s because they have a lot in common with the Philippines as long as the history is concern. A Must See in Zamboanga City

Lantaka Hotel was also one of the nice places to visit in Zamboanga City. Lantaka by the Sea Hotel is what they call this, what is particularly extraordinary about this place is that its located on the paved area by the wharf behind the hotel. Here, you will find colorful vinta sail boats and stalls of the Badjao sea gypsies, one of the original people who established in Zamboanga. The Badjaos offer various ornamental items and charms fashioned out of resources harvested from the sea. The most common are pearls that have been stringed into necklaces or fashioned into ear rings. While a set of these can be bought at incredibly low prices. Click here to see photos Cultured Pearls

When I was in Zamboanga City during my 6weeks vacation, one of the places I visited was La Vista Del Mar: About six kilometers out of town along the West Coast Highway, you’d find this stylish open-air sea food restaurant that offers good food with a great view of the sea. We went there the day before Fiesta Pilar to avoid traffic and yet I was surprised to see the big crowd of people that were also there. But nevertheless we all had a great time

The Feast of All Saints

IN the early days of Christendom, when there were still very few saints, it was easy for Christians to celebrate the anniversary of the death of a saint. When there were far too many saints already to assign a separate day to each, the Catholic Church decided to appoint a common feast day to honor all the saints. Known in the western world as the Feast of All Saints, the first of November is more commonly called here in the Philippines as All Saints’ Day.
Originally intended to honor Christianity’s martyrs, it somehow evolved, for some reason, into a celebration in honor of departed relatives and loved ones, now called Todos los Santos, undas in Tagalog, and Adlaw sa Patay or Kalag-kalag in Cebuano. Considered an important holiday as well as a day of obligation, it is probably the fourth most important holiday in the Philippines, after Christmas, New Year’s Day and Holy Week. During the days prior to the first of November, cemeteries both public and private undergo major cleaning, and tombs and gravestones are cleaned and polished.
The celebration of All Saints’ Day, in a way, starts the day before, on Oct. 31. Families start to congregate in cemeteries and memorial parks on this day, probably more to stake a claim on as much space as they can, since space is at a premium at most burial grounds. Tents or canopies are put up, food is prepared and rest areas are assigned. Woe to those who prepare for All Saints’ Day late, or not at all, as they may find themselves short of space, or even worse, arrive at their family plot with no place to stay.
Though it is not really commemorated in the Philippines, the overnight stay at the cemeteries also acts as an impromptu celebration of Halloween. The day itself has come to have a festive atmosphere, with loud music playing, people milling about, friends hanging out together, families having picnics and children playing games. All Saints’ Day also attracts vendors hawking all sorts of wares, from food to candles to trinkets and various odds and ends.
In private memorial parks, stalls are even rented out by the management to major fast food chains, capitalizing on the large number of people who would need food and refreshments as the day goes on. Sometimes, the memorial parks become a tiangge or marketplace, much like the atmosphere at the public cemeteries. Because of this, members of the older generation have begun to frown about the seeming commercialization of what used to be an extremely solemn occasion.Traditions within the tradition of celebrating All Saints’ Day also abound.
Old timers warn about restless spirits looking for another place to haunt and following the visitors back to their homes. To ward off these spirits, cemetery visitors are encouraged to envelop themselves in smoke, the practice of which is called palina in the vernacular. Usually, piles of burning grass are placed at the entrances of cemeteries so everyone has to pass through the smoke, fulfilling the purpose of palina whether one wants to or not. Other, less scary practices are followed by Filipinos during this day.
In some small towns in the provinces, All Saints’ Day is an occasion to dress up in new clothes, and socialize with relatives and friends. The collection of wax drippings by small children, while not really a tradition in the real sense, has been practiced for so long that it has become an integral part of All Saints’ Day.
The wax drippings are formed into a ball, and the child with the biggest ball of wax at the end of the day earns bragging rights for having, well, the biggest ball of wax. While the reason we Filipinos visit our dead on a day meant to honor the saints remains unclear, one thing remains true about All Saints’ Day. It reaffirms our ties with family members, whether living or dead, and shows that tradition is still alive in the Philippines, even during the Day of the Dead.

Thing's I dont normaly see here

Wow 6weeks went by pretty fast. But I’m glad everything turned out the way I expect it to be. We had such a great time; my son enjoyed his first visit in the Philippines, though at first he had a hard time dealing with the weather for its way to hot. But as long as the fan is on 24/7 he’s all good to go.
When I was still planning my vacation, I was scared yet excited. Scared because I don’t know for the fact how my son will react on a long flight. But he actually surprises me, he did really good on the entire flight. He did get bored which is a normal reaction for most kids but in general it really turned out to be what we called a “Happy Trip”
Anyway here are some pictures that I took during my entire trip which is very hard to come by here in the US or things you don't normally see everyday (at least for me)
