Fun Birthday Party

So after the work that we did last Saturday, it now time to go to a Birthday Party. We were invited by a good friend Adora and Scott through Edna for their daughter’s Birthday, their beautiful daughter just turn 5 years old… Men, it only seems like yesterday. Anyway they held it in a nice park in sparks area and the place was beautiful. My son had a blast and so are we, that was the 2nd time he attended a birthday party and I told my hubby I’m sure this is just the beginning for a more party’s to attend to… Its also a nice time to get ideas and inspirations because sooner or later we will be doing the same thing also when our baby boy will turn one year old… But I don’t have to worry about it for now, not for another year I believed because we will be celebrating his 1st birthday in the Philippines together with friends and relatives and I’m just so excited about it…

Busy and fun short visit

My aunt and cousin from Fresno California were able to arrive home safely after almost 8hours in the bus and train. They came here to Reno to visit my son Christian since they haven’t seen him since he was born. It was just a short visit but I’m sure they all had a great time. It was also a busy 5days visit for we brought them to Lake Tahoe that Saturday , we also went out that Sunday for a surprise get together sort of a welcome Party for our good friend Jo and her kids. And of course short vacation won’t be complete no matter how short it is without going shopping, so I brought them to my much loved store no other than Kohl’s. We all had fun shopping for they really had a good sale, believe it or not they even had a 90percent off from the original price, so that was really something…and I just love shopping here….

Good old Truckee

When we were in Truckee today for a Tour de Nez saw some good old stuff that I find it really neat… Living here in Reno for almost 4years now (well not exactly in Reno, its Fernley 30miles east of Reno) I cant believed that I haven’t been to Truckee Downtown at all though its not that far drive from Reno. But anyway what I like about Truckee is that it has a lot of historical site. Old buildings were still there and nicely preserved. Taking a walk towards downtown Truckee because that where the bike race is, it feels like walking in a place where your great great grandfather lives.. . It’s a nice place and I told Paul that I would love to go back there again and explore more on the area… So if you guys are goin to Reno, the biggest little city in the world, don’t forget to stop by in Truckee also… It’s a cool place…

They're Engaged!

When boyfriend of 3years Ryan Agoncillo gave Judy Ann Santos or fondly known as “Juday” to her friends and fans a diamond ring on her birthday. Everyone was speculating that it was indeed an engagement ring. But in spite of the humors both the couples stays mum about it… But in YES magazine of July 2008 Issue Judy Ann confirms that the guessing game is over and that they are indeed Officially Engaged…. Well to Judy Ann and Ryan congratulations

Helpful Info....

thanks for this one frank,,, learned alot too...

1. Peel a banana from the bottom and you won't have to pick the little"stringy things" off of it. That's how the primates do it.
2. Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store. If youleave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
3. Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stayfresh much longer and not mold!
4. Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better foreating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better forcooking.
5. Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef. It will help pullthe grease away from the meat while cooking.
6. To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple ofspoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beatthem up.
7. For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andesmints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies. Let set for awonderful minty frosting.
8. Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste ofgarlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste ofgarlic.
9. Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert.Simple chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a fewapples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy barsover the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or withvanilla ice cream. Yum
1 0 . Reheat PizzaHeat up leftover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, setheat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. Nosoggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it reallyworks.
11. Easy Deviled EggsPut cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are allbroken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it upmixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg.Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.
12. Expanding FrostingWhen you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it withyour mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get tofrost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugarand calories per serving.
13. Reheating refrigerated breadTo warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, placethem in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture willkeep the food moist and help it reheat faster.
14. Newspaper weeds awayStart putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wetnewspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go coverwith mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through somegardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.
15. Broken GlassUse a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass youcan't see easily.
16. No More MosquitoesPlace a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.
17. Squirrel Away!To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants withcayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and thesquirrels won't come near it.
18. Flexible vacuumTo get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an emptypaper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bentor flattened to get in narrow openings.
19. Reducing Static ClingPin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have aclingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling whenwearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and -- ta da! -- staticis gone.
20. Measuring CupsBefore you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hotwater. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry cup. Next, add youringredien t, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes rightout.
21. Foggy Windshield?Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in theglove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser!Works better than a cloth!
22. Reopening envelopeIf you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include somethinginside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour ortwo. Viola! It unseals easily.
23. ConditionerUse your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's cheaper than shavingcream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to useup the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in yourhair...
24. Good-bye Fruit FliesTo get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2" withApple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid, mix well. Youwill find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever! Make sure theyou don't put it in a paper cup on top of a wood surface - theingredients will eat through the cup and leave a ring!!
25. Get Rid of AntsPut small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it"home," can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so,especially if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry aboutpets or small children being harmed!
26. INFO ABOUT CLOTHES DRYERSThe heating unit went out on my dryer! The gentleman that fixes thingsaround the house for us told us that he wanted to show us something andhe went over to the dryer and pulled out the lint filter. It was clean.(I always clean the lint from the filter after every load clothes.) Hetold us that he wanted to show us something; he took the filter over tothe sink, ran hot water over it. The lint filter is made of a meshmaterial - I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like.Well,...the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It didn't go throughit at all! He told us that dryer sheets cause a film over th at meshthat's what burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the film, but it'sthere. It's what is in the dryer sheets to make your clothes soft andstatic free -- that nice fragrance too, you know how they can feel waxywhen you take them out of the box, well this stuff builds up on yourclothes and on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units tocatch fire & potentially burn your house down with it! He said the bestway to keep your dryer working for a very long time (& to keep yourelectric bill lower) is to take that filter out & wash it with hot soapywater & an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months. He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! Howabout that!?! Learn something new everyday! I certainly didn't knowdryer sheets would do that. So, I thought I'd share!

Furnace

Today was a busy Friday for us, I called the local heating and cooling company in town the other day Tuesday to schedule an appointment to have our furnace service. It hasn’t been service at all so hubby asks me to make an appointment. And according to the lady that I talked on the phone that they can send someone that Thursday to do the service for our furnace, but I asked if they can do it on Friday instead. I want my hubby to be around when they do the work because for me I think it’s a mans job and that he will give more justice if his the one supervising the job instead of me. So instead of having our heater service alone, we end up including the AC, and I think its better that way rather than hiring another company to service the AC also…

Shed some light into your sight- try Lasik

I had a friend who just bought another 3pairs of eye glasses, according to her it was actually on sale, and if I wasn’t mistaken it’s buy 2 get 1 free. Sound really good ha? But she later realized that buying a new pair of eye glasses, to the consultation fee is really getting into her nerve, not to mention that their vision insurance wasn’t really that good, it only covers a few percentages, so they still have to pay a big portion of it. So she told me that she might as well consider getting a lasik surgery next time…it sounds a bit scary and expensive but she already made her researched, and she sound pretty serious about it and according to her it wasn’t really bad at all. Especially if you’re going to add up the cost for glasses, exams, contacts, solutions, and in the long run Lasik is not so terrible. She had a point ha?. So I told her, since she’s already from bay area California she might as well consider Lasik in Walnut Creek . I’m sure it will not be a long drive for her. And besides Laser Vue surgeons have performed more than 25,000 procedures. At Laser Vue there will be no down, no interest financing is available and you can apply online so you know if you qualify even before you make a prior arrangement. Sounds really convenient…

Take it easy...

Hello everyone, its Monday one’s again. And hope you all had a great weekend. I know for some 2days weekend is very short, especially for those who had a lot of things to attend to like working parents, weekend is the only time they have to do like taking care of the kids by themselves without putting the kids on daycare, weekly grocery shopping, laundry, vacuum and who knows what else that needs to be done on weekend right? And before you knew it your 2days weekend is already over… Well just take it easy moms, there’s always tomorrow and don’t try to be a super hero…

Cheers to you my friend....

I know this has long been overdue, but as they say "better late than never" Anyway, just want to congratulate my friend Gency, she just got married last month in a beautiful island of Palau. I met this friend of mine during my medical exam, while waiting for hours at St. Lukes, I’m sure you guys remember that… We really didn’t talk that much during that time. Then we saw each other again a week later while waiting in line at about 4am at the US embassy, actually she was the one who was there ahead of me, I was there at 4am but I think shes there at 2am accordingly (wasn’t really sure now because its been almost 4years) but anyway when we saw each other and we kinda remember each others faces so she let me in at the line so that I wont be that far anymore.. hehehe.. Anyway I just salute this lady for being such a trooper shes so honest and full of courage and faith during her down moments… But anyway that was almost 4years ago and she was able to move on now and found the man of her dreams…So to you Gency,, in behalf of your friends here in the US, I’m sure they would also love to wish you the best of luck and congratulations,. You made it girl and were so happy for you…
